Social Good and Philanthropy need influence, awareness, and funding. The best way to draw attention and achieve these goals is with a little sex appeal. LOCA pulls from our experience and network of celebrities, influencers, and sexy brands to create collaborations that are fun and good for the world.

 

HANDS ONLY CPR

Anyone can go into sudden cardiac arrest. No one should die from it.

Dr. Holly Andersen, a cardiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, was frustrated with the unnecessary deaths and brain damage that resulted from situations in which people didn’t know what to do when sudden cardiac arrest occurs, so with Dr. Andersen’s help, we created HandsOnly CPR. It began as a local grassroots effort to save lives in the city of New York but has grown into a national movement.

Our mission was simple: create a movement to empower people to save lives from sudden cardiac arrest by employing this simple technique: Check, Call, Compress. 

Gaining support from celebrities, the NY Giants, Women’s Heart Health, the Red Dress Awards, and many other corporate partnerships, our movement expanded to make every American a life-saver by increasing bystander response to sudden cardiac arrest. Most recently, we have gone national by linking a partnership with the PGA and we launched our Heart-Safe Club Protocol at the PGA Championship in May. 

 

EPILEPSY FOUNDATION

Anyone with a brain can get epilepsy, so anyone with a brain can end epilepsy.

Most people recoil when you talk about epilepsy because they don’t understand that seizures can happen to anyone with a brain. Beginning with this premise, we set out to change the perceptions of Epilepsy so that more people would be willing to help ease the pain of those living with the disease and provide support to end it once and for all. The campaign consisted of print, out-of-home, TV, video and a digital /social program with a host of collaborations in the entertainment, beauty and art communities.


Phase two was a fundraising effort to end Sudden Unexpected Death from Epilepsy (SUDEP). Over the past 100 years, little has been done in research to end SUDEP. The Epilepsy Foundation needed to raise money for a biomarker challenge to find a cure for this problem and ensure that no one dies from SUDEP ever again. LOCA partnered with celebrity and activist John O’Hurley to create The Hundred Year Leap a series of successful intimate fundraising evenings of high profile hosts such as Brian Cranston and Katie Couric as well as 100 point wines to ignite more conversation about the issue, drawing publicity and raising the funds needed to end this 100 year journey.
